Sockeye

Salmon and Eels recorded as part of the Spokane River Watershed

Sockeye salmon
In 2012 there were predicted to be at least 400,000 sockeye returning up the Columbia River. That estimate has been updated to over 550,000. One of the larger runs ever recorded.

Thousands of Sockeye will come to Chief Joseph Dam this year look for a way home to Spokane.

Sockeye's are about 2 foot long and weigh 5 to 10 pounds (this needs to be updated).

Need past years counts ...
